Beauty Haul

Every holiday season, I swear that I am not going to splurge on beauty or fashion items…yet every season, I fail. Miserably. Long story short, here are the latest things I got!

Lookfantastic Beauty Box – €19.54

The things I got in the January box were;

  • Molton Brown Templetree Body Wash
  • Gatineau Collagen Eye Compresses
  • myvitamins Lemon Flavour Vitamin C Effervescent
  • Goldwell DualSenses Color Extra Extra Rich 60Second Treatment
  • Nuxe Soothing and Rehydrating Fresh Mask
  • Philip Kingsley Daily Damage Defence

I did not get to use everything yet, but I will keep you updated on the products that struck me.

Real Techniques Starter Set – €22.88

I can’t even begin to share with you how excited I am to have these in my collection. From the very first RT brush I owned, I have loved the range – and this Starter Set does not disappoint! I have not used all the set yet, but I will probably review it later on 🙂

Paul Mitchell Firm Style Freeze And Shine Super Spray (500ml) – €18.06

This is the first time I ever tried a Paul Mitchell product. I have already tried this and I already really like this hairspray – it doesn’t get crunchy at all, and extended my look for a good 2 days.

Paul Mitchell Express Style Round Trip (200ml) – €13.22

Another Paul Mitchell product that I am eager to try. This is specifically for curly hair and is supposed to bring back that natural spring to your hair. I have only used it a couple of times, so I will get back to you on this product.

Per-fékt Skin Perfection Conceal in Rich – €8.32

Let me just start by saying that this was a TOTAL BARGAIN. The original price of this concealer is €33.68! Luckily, I got it on sale for much cheaper. I had heard of the Per-fékt range, but they are quite pricey. Unfortunately, in a sale, the shades are not always the best ones for your skin tone. Nevertheless, I took the opportunity to get the product at such a reduced rate. It is really dark. Really dark. As saddened as I am, I will try to play around some contouring techniques using this concealer.

Eylure Lash Edit Paris Collection – €12.86

Yes, I am still experimenting (and failing) with false lashes. Enough said.

Review: TIGI Bed Head Duo

Quite a while back, I issued my first order from and got hold of two hair products (amongst others). Therefore, sharing with you my thoughts and review on these products, is long overdue.

The two products are both from TIGI’s Bed Head line, them being the TIGI Bed Head on the Rebound Curl Recall Cream, and the TIGI Bed Head Ego Boost. As I mentioned, I got these products online off, but you can always opt for buying them in-store or from a different online shop. I should also remind you that I naturally have curly, frizzy hair – therefore, I will be sharing my thoughts from a curly-haired person’s perspective.

TIGI Bed Head Ego Boost (200ml) – €15.90

The TIGI Bed Head Ego Boost, is probably the first ever leave-in conditioner I have ever bought with my own money. After using it for quite some time now, I do not regret getting this product one bit! As a leave-in conditioner, it has a light consistency, rather than being thick and heavy on the hair. Therefore, this product won’t weigh your hair down, which is something I personally struggle with when shopping for products or treatments. Moreover, it does not leave your hair tacky or damp for longer.

Personally, I find it best to pour roughly 2 or more full pumps (I have a lot of hair), rub it on the palms of my hands and distribute it throughout my damp hair – from the tips of my hair upwards towards the roots. I never actually GET to the roots, but I just run any excess product through the top part of my hair. After drying (naturally or using heat), you can actually feel that your hair is much softer than it would have been without the product. I also think that it reduces my frizz slightly – even though I normally use this in conjunction with other products so as to eliminate frizz, I have tried using it alone, and it did make a slight difference.

With regards to the packaging, the pump works just fine, and twists left and right to open or close. The shape of the bottle is the only thing that slightly bothers me as it is not travel-friendly. Then again, you definitely would not need all the bottle if you’re travelling. I just pour the product into little travel containers, and there you go!

TIGI Bed Head on the Rebound Curl Recall Cream (125ml) – €12.03

If you’ve got curly hair, go buy this now! This cream has helped me manage my frizzy hair SO much! Unlike the leave-in conditioner, this product is a thicker cream that gives shape to your curls. Even though it has this consistency, it does not weigh you curls down – on the contrary, the more you put, the curlier and full-of-spring, your curls will be. One thing I am a bit iffy about is that if you put too much product, your hair may turn slightly crunchy. Therefore, just like the leave-in conditioner, distribute it as evenly as possible throughout. Moreover, start with a reasonable amount, and then if need be, add more. Due to having a full head of hair, I tend to use quite a bit which in turn seems to reduce most of the frizz I have. That being said, I do not end up frizz-free after using this product mainly because of the texture of my hair as well as the humid environment I live in. Regardless, I love this product and will definitely re-purchase it!

In conclusion, I really like these products and think they are a great addition to anyone’s hair care routine! Moreover, I might try out other TIGI Bed Head products!

Feeling Festive: Valentine’s Day Nails

So as you probably know, Valentine’s in right around the corner. Therefore, I thought it was only fit to joosh up my nails for the festivity. As you know, I am no pro at nail art – so bare with me. Also, the idea behind this nail art was taken from cutepolish‘s designs. If you have never heard of her, go check her out as she does amazing nail art tutorials on YouTube.

So I started off with the usual base-coat to protect my natural nail.

I decided to use red and pink shades for this design, but you can use any colours you wish. As my base colour, I went with an opaque coat of white nail polish. The idea I was going for was basically an ombre heart design. The gold glitter nail polish is optional as a finishing touch.

To create the heart, simply dip a dotting tool or toothpick into the nail polish and run a small diagonal line on your nail. Then, connect that line by mirroring it to form a heart shape.

Continue to do this all along the nail, using a lighter nail polish as you go down the nail, to create the ombre effect (they do not need to be perfect, don’t worry).

You can paint the rest of your nails any colour you wish, or can even create this design on all of your nails. I decided to go for a red as I prefer it to pink. If you want that extra glam, you can also go over your red nail polish with a red-toned glitter to give you that extra pop!

And this is the final look (without the glitter)!
