Review: Dr.Organic Moroccan Argan Oil Hair Treatment Serum

These past few years, I had honestly given up on taming and styling my hair. For those of you who don’t know, my mane hair is naturally curly, dry, frizzy and tangle-prone. Cute, right? Even though Malta’s humid weather does not help, I was in dire need to nurse my hair back to health.

Watching multiple YT videos, I was a big fan of hair oils, but never really got around to buying one (I’m lazy like that). Luckily, after being invited to the Dr.Organic launch a couple of months ago, I finally got my hands on their Organic Moroccan Argan Oil Hair Treatment Serum (what a mouthful!).

Firstly, and not necessarily beneficial to my hair, the packaging is gorgeous. The frosted glass gives a fresh and elegant look to the product itself, making it even more appealing! As the name implies, this product is and oil-based serum, with Argan Oil being the most dominant. It also contains ingredients such as Clove Leaf Oil and Cinnamon Leaf Oil which give it its slightly spicy scent. I know this scent might not be everyone’s cup of tea, so do suggest you get a sniff of it before buying it.

The great thing about this Dr.Organic serum is that a little goes a long way – I roughly only use two pumps to work through my ends up to my roots. It is mostly applied to towel-dried, leaving your hair soft and silky. However, it can also be used on dry hair for extra shine. Even though I still struggle with having dry and frizzy hair, this serum really does eliminate most of my frizz, making my hair more manageable, without weighing it down.

Lastly, this serum retails in Malta at €16.87 – a fraction of the price of other serums on the market! Definitely a must have in your hair-care routine!

Event: Femme Beauty Re-launch Party

As you might have noticed, as of late, I have been super busy, so much so that I barely have any time for blogging. However, I couldn’t miss out on last week’s event for the re-launch party of local shop, Femme Beauty.

Femme Beauty

As soon as we were greeted, the beautiful hosts, Luisa Musumeci and Christina Martinez offered us a glass of champagne until we settled in and had a look around. Apart from the lovely ambience, it was great to see fellow bloggers and catch up!

I was definitely lured me in by the My Melts stand, offering deliciously-smelling soya based oils and scents in wax form. Their main use is to be burnt over oil burners and basically fill your room or house with the yummy fragrance. They have got a wide selection of scents, but I ended up going for Sandalwood and Cinnamon Crunch. I also went ahead and got a new oil burner as it seems my mother misplaced the one we had (and won’t admit it!).

There were two other stands; a makeup stand containing all Makeup Studio products, and the other a little display of the newly released Cinderella collection gelish polishes.

Last but not least, the lovely team sent us home with a little thank you gift bag.

February Favourites 2015

Another month, another favourites post! Time is really flying by, so much so that we’ll soon be back to Easter. These past few months, I have really busy, juggling Uni and work and a lot of other things, leaving only a short time to enjoy any beauty products. Yet, I managed to find a couple which I naturally gravitated to this past month, so I think they’re worth a mention.

Sleek Makeup Blusher in Coral

I’ve had this blusher for a quite a long time now so it is more of a rediscovered product. I like to switch between blushers, from pinks to more orange tones and I just fell in love with this one all over again. And it also reminded me that I need to buy more Sleek products! These blushers are pigmented so a little goes a very long way. One thing I really like about Sleek products is that even though they are pigmented, they are buildable and very easy to blend for a gorgeous soft look. Love it!

Philip Kingsley Daily Damage Defence

I only had this for a month (Lookfantastic Beauty Box) but I’m getting quite fond of the product. Let me just start by saying the smell of this is delicious. It is fresh and fruity, but not too fruity! I spray this on my damp hair (especially the ends) just after washing it but before combing it through with my Tangle Teezer. Over time, I do think my hair is not as tangled as it used to be (together with other products), so I do think this product does its job.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Macaroon (96)

Again, had this for about a year or so but I keep coming back to it. I think it is something to do with the colour and the consistency that just appeals to me. As you may know, I absolutely love rose colours as I think they compliment my skin tone. Pair that with the softest, buttery (duh.) lip product and voila! – You’ve got yourself this pigmented baby! Additionally, it is really a lip butter for all occasions and styles. Definitely a “your lips but better” kind of product.

L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Le Khol Liner in Pure Espresso

Saving the best for last. This is surely my favourite out of these favourites. Firstly, the colour is gorgeous. The colour can be intensified to your liking, helping you achieve natural to smoky effortless looks in minutes. Since it is a khol liner, it is meant to be a soft product. Basically, it is a smudgy product as it takes longer to set. What I like to do is run some liner on the top of my eyelid (no need to be neat), and then just take my ring finger, and lighlty run it over the liner (DON’T poke your eye out, please!) This will give you a smudged, smoky, grungy look without trying too hard. There are other ways to play around with this product, but this is definitely my fave! I also tight-line with this liner for extra intensity and holds quite well.

And those are all of the products I have been loving this past month!
