OOTD: Patches Market

About two weeks ago, Patches hosted another great Artisan Market at the Upper Barraka in Valletta. My friend Rebecca from Becky’s Treats was there so I decided to go say hi – and I’m so glad I did!

I also took this opportunity to convince my brother to take a couple shots of my outfit – and (just in case you didn’t realise by now) that’s what I’ll be sharing with you today.

As you can see, I decided to go for something simple – I didn’t feel like wearing a lot of makeup or dressing up too much – I just wanted to be comfortable.

What I Wore:
Crop Top: New Look
Maxi Skirt: New Look
Sandals: Boohoo
Handbag: Primark
Watch: New Look
Ring: H&M
Nail Polish: Essie Candy Mint Apple

And here are a couple of photos from Becky’s Treats‘ stand!

Just in case you missed it, you can like her Facebook page so you’ll know where she’ll be next 🙂

July Favourites 2014

I can’t believe that July has already gone by! That means that Summer is almost over and the saddest thing about that is that I live in a country surrounded by water, yet I’ve only been swimming once 😦 On a positive note, the end of the month means it’s time for a monthly favourites! I’ve gone through the things I’ve used the most and narrowed it down to those items that discovered or re-discovered this month, if that makes any sense.

e.l.f. Lipstick in Classy

This was actually one of the first lipsticks I ever owned and I’m really glad I’m using it again. I had shoved it away for the longest time because I’m always trying new lip products but I took it with me to Birmingham as I wanted an everyday lip, and I immediately remembered why I love it! Even though it’s not that long-lasting, the colour pay-off is just so pretty. The creamy texture together with the colour gives that ‘my lips but better’ look which I absolutely love, especially in Summer.

Sanctuary Spa Deep Cleanse Facial 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask

As you probably realized, I mentioned this product not too long ago in my Birmingham Haul. The reason I’ve included this in this monthly favourites is because I just can’t get enough of this face mask! I use it about twice a week (even three if I feel like a pick-me-up) and use it only on my problematic areas in conjunction with other face masks.

Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer in Dark (04)

Also from my Birmingham Haul is this concealer. It’s not something I particularly love, but I have been using it all month. I like using this mostly to cover up my dark circles and any redness (mostly around my nose). This concealer just makes my dark circles disappear – I actually have been using this together with the Maybelline Age Rewind concealer and it’s fantastic! I don’t use this on my blemishes only because I find it darkens them rather than conceals them. This might be because the shade is slightly dark. I still have to pick up a lighter shade, but other than that it works fine.

Primark Black Bowling Bag

I’ve been looking for an everyday bowling bag for a while now so I was so happy when I stumbled on this baby at Primark! The thing I love most about it is that it’s just the right size – I am not a very ‘big-bag’ type of person so this was just right. Even though it looks small, believe me when I tell you that I can fit a ton of stuff in there! And this is what I mean by the right size – you can fit your umbrella, purse, makeup bag and even(I must admit, not that comfortably) foolscaps. It’s great for everyday but you can also dress it up, which I love. And for just £8 this bag is an absolute bargain!

Primark Black Slip-on Shoes

I finally own a pair of slip-ons! Primark is full of these shoes so I went a bit overboard and bought 3 pairs (I know..), but in my defense they were only £3! I mean, how on earth would I pass on a bargain like that?! Anyway, not only do they go great with almost anything, but they’re also super comfortable. I’ve been living in these from the moment I got them and they didn’t tire me out or irritate my feet whatsoever. Definitely one of the best purchases I made on holiday!

And that’s all for this month’s favourites!

About two weeks ago, I got the chance to go to the very hyped Malta Fashion Week Awards (MFWA)! It was a very last minute thing, as a my mum received two complementary tickets to the event and the after party just a week before (lucky, I know). I got to go with one of my besties, Christabel 🙂 The levels of excitement were high and honestly, almost stressful. Needless to say, I was stressing out like crazy on what to wear!

I finally decided and here I am to share with you, my outfit choice for the night.

Please excuse the poor quality of these photos – I was running late and took them last minute. I hope you get a gist of the look I was going for though. I apologize once again.

Shorts: Boohoo
Clutch: New Look

OOTD: Wedding

So no, I’m not getting married just yet! Nic’s cousin got married last saturday and since I’ve technically been part of the family these past 2 years now, I got to attend! May I just share with you the level of excitement I had since I got to know that I’m going – cut me some slack guys, it was the first wedding I’ve ever been to. The ceremony was in the afternoon with the reception and dinner after so it was quite nice.

It goes without saying that it the event required formal attire, so I decided to share the outfit I wore.

Please excuse the poor quality of these photos – I had to take them with my iPhone. I hope you get a gist of the look I was going for though. I apologize once again.

What I Wore:
Berry Wrap Dress – Boohoo
Black Cami Top – Zara
Black Heels – Dorothy Perkins
Black Clutch – New Look
Accessories – New Look

And that’s all for today!

OOTD: Easter Sunday

Welcome to my first Outfit of the Day (OOTD) !!

So last week, my family celebrated Easter Sunday  – an excuse for the whole family to stuff their faces with my Grandma’s yummy food! Basically, with the help of my brother Ian and my bestie Liza (who also happens to be my brother’s girlfriend!), I’ll be showing you my look for the day.

Starting off with the dress – I decided to wear this swing tartan dress as it’s light and really comfortable. When we’re having family lunches/dinners it’s always ideal to dress comfortably so this dress was just perfect for that, still keeping things stylish. I then paired the dress with these adorable black boots that I’m just IN LOVE with! This style of boots has been common for quite a while but only recently have I purchased these – and boy am I not sorry! They just give the right amount of edge to the look without going overboard..I can go on and on about these shoes so I’ll just stop here.

On to accessories – I’m that kind of person that feels lost without a watch so obviously, that’s a must have. I’ve lately been trying to get into wearing rings more often so here I have on two on my favourite ones as they’re simple, yet beautiful. The owl earrings are too cute to avoid so I HAD to wear them…plus they’re the only ‘animal’ earrings I own therefore the closest thing I have to Easter bunnies. I then finished off the look by wearing my gorgeous black clutch. This bag is actually more spacious than it looks. It has a gold chain to go with the gold detail in the front, but I preferred not to wear it with this outfit.

With regards to hair, I clipped back a bit of hair to keep it simple but giving it that slight messy look. As for makeup I just followed my normal makeup routine with the only differences being the slightly winged liner and red lipstick. If you’d like to see how I achieved this look, let me know in the comments below so I’ll recreate it for you 🙂

May I also apologize for my posing skills. The clothes looks better in real life. I promise.

What I Wore:
Tartan Dress – New Look
Boots – Topshop
Accessories – New Look
Clutch Bag – New Look
