Top 5 Nail Polishes for Winter

One of my favourite things about Winter is that I tend to have more time for nail designs and overall upkeep! Keep your nails looking gorgeous all throughout Winter with these top 5 polishes!

Max Factor Glossfinity in Candy Rose (50)

I must admit, this first colour is an all year round colour. However, it’s beautiful to have on your nails as it gives you that smart look during this festive season, and ties your look together. This rose colour applies smoothly and looks so soft and warm on your nails. If you want to add an edge to it, adding a bit of sprinkles on top, which will put more emphasis on your nails 😉

Max Factor Glossfinity in Red Passion (110)

It’s safe to say to that everyone needs a red nail polish in their collection! And let me just tell you, this is the perfect shade! Perfect for the Christmas season, this pure red gives leaves your nails looking feminine and elegant for any event! Needless to say, Christmas is around the corner, so it can always be a little present from you to you 😛

Max Factor Glossfinity in Midnight Bronze (60)

Another festive must! You might recognise this colour from last week’s YouTube video. This stunning gold definitely makes the outfit looks even more special. Just like any of the Glossfinity range, this nail polish glides on smoothly and lasts for about a week (depending on how much you take care of your nails!). However, I do suggest going with two to three coats with this one as it is quite sheer at first.

This gorgeous number might not be everyone’s first choice. However, this plum shade looks really smart on the nails and suits most skin tones. In itself, the colour is quite opaque so two coats are more than enough (I got away with one 😉 ).

Gel Shine Lacquer in Gleaming Teal (45)

Definitely a personal favourite! Also, featured in last week’s video, this colour is so luxurious and wintery yet original, since it is definitely not the everyday green you see and a perfect addition to your nail polish collection. Just like the plum colour, this beautiful shade barely needs two coats, and you’re good to go!

Event: The Body Shop Malta Christmas Launch

The logical thing to do when you have a lot of WAY TOO MUCH products from The Body Shop? Go to their Christmas Launch, of course!

Last Friday, I was lucky enough to get invited to The Body Shop’s Christmas Launch, together with a other Maltese beauty bloggers.

The event took place at their Sliema outlet where we were greeted to a beautifully decorated outlet, Christmas goodies and a vibrant sea of new products. We were then invited to a short presentation about the brand Christmas theme – CANDY! The presentation boasted their natural bath & body product line were they are currently collaborating with ‘l-Istrina’, the largest annual Maltese fundraiser for charity. Through this collaboration, The Body Shop shall be donating €1 to ‘l-Istrina’ for every gift purchased from the selected line.

(That pretty lady? That’s my beautiful bestie, Frannie, of course! 😀 )

We were also given a brief overview about the makeup they have out this festive season. The stars of the line are definitely the lip and cheek stain, and the liquid liner. Even though the concept of using one product for your lips and cheeks is not something new, it is somewhat different and introductory to the Maltese market. Moreover, the liquid liners are glittery, making them perfect for the Christmas festivities. They also had the nail polishes they released at their last launch on display, which may or may not have slipped into my shopping basket…

The rest of the night consisted of a lovely chat with the ladies and the staff, and taking a lot of photos for you to see! The Body Shop were very generous by offering a 20% discount off all the gifts!  They also didn’t let us leave empty handed and gave us a couple of goodies to go along with our personal purchases.

Here is what I picked up:

Vanilla Brulee Body Polish

If you like the smell of cake batter with vanilla frosting, than this baby is perfect for you! The entire vanilla range is simply beautiful and smells divine. I went with the body polish – the scent is not too overpowering, but just right. I already used this and I already know I love it! I regret not getting the body butter though..I might end up getting it..eventually..

Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil

I purchased this cleansing oil purely out of neccessity. I ran out a while ago and could barely wait until the event to get it, simply because it’s my favourite cleanser and I cannot live without it! Absolutely a must!

Colour Crush Nail Polish in Berry Gorgeous

Don’t judge me – I couldn’t resist! This gorgeous beauty was calling out my name…ok, maybe not literally, but you catch my drift. I’ve been lusting over these nail polishes since their launch, so it was high time I test them out! Plus, this stunning dark purple-plum colour is gorgeous for the Winter season.

Strawberry Hand Cream and Lip Balm Duo

I actually got this as a gift for someone 🙂 In my opinion, these little duos are perfect gifts for your friends and family. Running late on Christmas shopping? Stock up on these, and you’re covered. Plus, they make great stocking fillers!

White Musk Libertine Gift Set

As the name implies, I also got this as a present. This beautiful set contains:

  • White Musk Libertine Eau de Toilette
  • White Musk Libertine Eau de Toilette (Travel Size)
  • White Musk Libertine Body Lotion
  • White Musk Libertine Shower Gel
  • Mini Notebook

Quite the gift, right?! All that for under €40!

And let’s not forget to mention, the goodies they gave us:

  • Frosted Cranberry Gift Set – Shower Gel, Body Lotion and Body Mist
  • Olive Gift Set – 2 Shower Gels and a green loofah
  • 2 toe-dividers
  • 2 Colour Crush Nail Polishes in The Body Shop Green and Gorgeous Grey

I must say, I enjoyed myself more than last time’s event – probably because of all the Christmas spirit! Everyone from The Body Shop was so helpful and sweet, as they usually are 🙂 Again, I enjoyed every minute of it and can’t wait to try out all of the products!

What are your The Body Shop faves? Did you enjoy the post? Like it! Feel free to share your thoughts and comments below 🙂

Christmas Present Ideas

You know the year has flew by you, when Christmas is in exactly a MONTH! I know, I still cannot believe it myself! During Christmas time –  and the month of December in general – we tend to abuse of our bank accounts where budgets are pushed aside so as to find your loved ones that special gift.

As much I love getting gifts for my friends and family, I find it sooo difficult to get them something within my budget that they would like. It so happens that I tend to surround myself with people who either enjoy really expensive items, or else just prefer sharing moments, rather than presents. Needless to say, I’m truly blessed for having such people around me (cheesy, I know).

Therefore, I decided to share some Christmas presents ideas you can get for someone who is into beauty and makeup, without breaking bank!

Zoella Beauty Guinea Pig Beauty Bag – €10.40

This makeup bag would be perfect for those who are looking for a gift on a budget. It also a cute present for just about anyone who is a makeup user! This makeup bag is quite spacious so even if you have a habit of over-packing (guilty!), your makeup items would still fit. It goes without saying that this is a versatile gift – you don’t have to use it ONLY for makeup or beauty products – you can always switch out your makeup items for toileteries when going on vacation 😉

Kneipp Herbal Bath Collection – €12.94

If your loved one enjoys a good relaxing bath, or just needs to de-stress, then the Kneipp Herbal Bath Collection would be great! In this collection you get 6 travel-size bottles full of herbal bath goodness, ranging from the Eucalyptus Cold & Sinus Relief Herbal Bath to the Lavender Balancing Herbal Bath.

Dr. Organic Gift Box – €19.21 – €22.50

These gift boxes are perfect for those who love skincare! As mentioned last week, Dr Organic’s products are 100% natural and organic, meaning they contain no harsh chemicals and are very beneficial for the skin. There are a couple of gift boxes, obviously at different prices, ranging from €19.21 – €22.50. Dr Organic products in Malta can be found at selected pharmacies (there’s a map on the website!)

theBalm Autobalm California Palette – €20.15

Isn’t this palette from theBalm just gorgeous? Personally, I think any makeup lover would be thrilled to have that in their Christmas stocking. The shades are very neutral so you won’t have to worry too much about the colours not suiting the person’s skin tone. Also great for travelling, each shade doubles up as something else – so you essentially have 8 shades, not 4!

Real Techniques Core Collection Kit – €27.29

Makeup brushes – they’re a necessity every makeup user needs. These Real Techniques brushes are so worth the hype! Not only are the fantastically priced, but they very durable too! The bristles do not shed and makeup applies beautifully and effortlessly with these brushes. Pity I don’t have this set myself…(is my hinting too obvious?!)

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette – €48.10

I am aware that this doesn’t really fall under the term “without breaking bank”, but just listen to me. Firstly, this palette is something that any makeup lover will love, appreciate and use for a long time (so are the others, but anyway). Secondly, makeup palettes in general are so versatile, and with this neutral palette, you can’t really go wrong. Additionally, you can also team up with someone else and give this gift as a duo – splitting cost, right there! The only sad part about this is that I don’t own one yet…all you have to do is press the title’s link..nah, I’m just kidding, kinda.

And those are my 6 picks to help and inspire you on your gift hunt, this festive season 🙂
