February Favourites 2015

Another month, another favourites post! Time is really flying by, so much so that we’ll soon be back to Easter. These past few months, I have really busy, juggling Uni and work and a lot of other things, leaving only a short time to enjoy any beauty products. Yet, I managed to find a couple which I naturally gravitated to this past month, so I think they’re worth a mention.

Sleek Makeup Blusher in Coral

I’ve had this blusher for a quite a long time now so it is more of a rediscovered product. I like to switch between blushers, from pinks to more orange tones and I just fell in love with this one all over again. And it also reminded me that I need to buy more Sleek products! These blushers are pigmented so a little goes a very long way. One thing I really like about Sleek products is that even though they are pigmented, they are buildable and very easy to blend for a gorgeous soft look. Love it!

Philip Kingsley Daily Damage Defence

I only had this for a month (Lookfantastic Beauty Box) but I’m getting quite fond of the product. Let me just start by saying the smell of this is delicious. It is fresh and fruity, but not too fruity! I spray this on my damp hair (especially the ends) just after washing it but before combing it through with my Tangle Teezer. Over time, I do think my hair is not as tangled as it used to be (together with other products), so I do think this product does its job.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Macaroon (96)

Again, had this for about a year or so but I keep coming back to it. I think it is something to do with the colour and the consistency that just appeals to me. As you may know, I absolutely love rose colours as I think they compliment my skin tone. Pair that with the softest, buttery (duh.) lip product and voila! – You’ve got yourself this pigmented baby! Additionally, it is really a lip butter for all occasions and styles. Definitely a “your lips but better” kind of product.

L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Le Khol Liner in Pure Espresso

Saving the best for last. This is surely my favourite out of these favourites. Firstly, the colour is gorgeous. The colour can be intensified to your liking, helping you achieve natural to smoky effortless looks in minutes. Since it is a khol liner, it is meant to be a soft product. Basically, it is a smudgy product as it takes longer to set. What I like to do is run some liner on the top of my eyelid (no need to be neat), and then just take my ring finger, and lighlty run it over the liner (DON’T poke your eye out, please!) This will give you a smudged, smoky, grungy look without trying too hard. There are other ways to play around with this product, but this is definitely my fave! I also tight-line with this liner for extra intensity and holds quite well.

And those are all of the products I have been loving this past month!

August Favourites 2014

Just like that, in a blink of an eye, Summer is practically over! And that can only mean that it’s time for another monthly favourites!

Tangle Teezer Original Professional Detangling Hairbrush – Purple & Pink

I have been using this for quite a while now and let me just say – my hair is thanking me! I have naturally curly hair, so combing it when dry is both painful and tedious, as well as leaving my hair super frizzy. Therefore, I use the Tangle Teezer on damp hair and comb in sections from the tips of my hair to the root (if that makes sense). It literally leaves my hair so soft! Life-saver, definitely!

e.l.f. Mineral Foundation in Warm

I’ve had this product for ages, and can’t believe I had forgotten all about it! I had initially put it aside because I was always using liquid foundation, but recently, I re-kindled my love for it. Since it’s Summer, liquid foundation tends to slip off my face and look patchy due to the heat. Moreover, I am currently experiencing a lot of breakouts on my chin and cheeks so I opted for a lighter base. In my opinion, it is not full coverage but I conceal any blemishes I have anyway so this just sets everything in place and matches my skin tone perfectly.

Real Techniques Blush Brush

These Real Technique brushes are just amazing, aren’t they?! Every brush I have of theirs, I love – this month it just happens to be the blush brush. No lie, I have been using this brush every single day this month! Since it is really light and fluffy, it gives you an almost airbrushed, beautifully blended finish. With that being said, don’t be too heavy handed with your blush or you’ll end up looking like someone smashes tomatoes on your cheeks 😉

New Look Sunglasses

They’re giraffe-print. Enough said.

Divergent by Veronica Roth

I must admit, I watched the movie before reading the book. I know, I know. I love the movie so I had quite high expectations for the book. It was intentionally written for children (which is ironic because the movie is not aimed towards kids!) so the diction is sometimes slightly childish for my liking, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I definitely recommend it 🙂

And those are all the things I’ve been loving this month!

May Favourites 2014

You know time is flying by when May is already over and exams are just round corner! I was quite hesitant in gathering my May favourites because it’s the first time I had to look back on what I loved the past month. Without rambling on too much, here are a couple of things that stood out the most in May. Enjoy!

The Body Shop Coconut Body Mist – €10.50

This just smells gorgeous. I mentioned this product in my recent Body Shop Haul, if you want to go check that out 😉 This stays on for a good 4 hours i would say which is very good for a mist as they aren’t as strong as perfumes. If you like the smell of coconut, I definitely recommend this!

The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil – €13.70

I’ve been using this all month long to see how it works with my skin – and I absolutely love it! It removes waterproof makeup really easily leaving your skin so clean and soft. I find that it also doesn’t dry the skin like some other cleansers do – and it’s good for all skin types, which is a plus. Oil-based products are really good for the skin as they don’t strip the skin from its natural oils, but on the contrary, they balance and nourish the skin which really helps with breakouts and acne-prone skin.

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream in Light Beige – €14.07

I’ve never had a CC cream before, so I was really excited to try this. It goes on really smoothly, easily an blends beautifully. It’s medium coverage but it is quite buildable so that doesn’t bother me. There are days where I really don’t feel like putting on foundation (especially because it’s so hot and humid in Malta!), so this really comes in handy. I apply it by dotting it onto my face and blending with my fingers as I find that it gives me easier and even application.

Nivea Original Lip Butter – €3

I think I have just found one of my all time lip care products! This lip butter keeps your lips so moisturised and hydrated, making them so so soft! Since the product comes in a tin container (i don’t really know how to explain it..), just make sure that you have clean hands when applying the lip butter because otherwise you’ll make the product inside the tin container really yucky and full of bacteria.

 Darkhorse by Katy Perry

I must admit, when I first heard the song, I REALLY didn’t like it. But it seems that it’s stuck on replay on radio because they can’t seem to stop playing it. This is one of those songs that I start liking after listening to it over and over. And now, I can actually say that I love it! And being honest, my favourite bit is Juicy J’s part. I try so hard to have the rapper swag when singing along…and needless to say, I fail MISERABLY. A for effort, I suppose.

Becky’s by Rebecca Borg

My favourite person of the month has to be my friend, Rebecca from Becky’s. Not only is she one of the sweetest people I know, but she is also SUPER talented at creating all kinds of yummy treats – go check her out now! For all you Maltese people who would like to try out some of her yummy goodness, you can always contact her to make an order, and believe me – you won’t be disappointed! (She had made me a dark chocolate birthday cake and it was DIVINE). Oh and Reb, if you’re reading this – SURPRISE! 🙂 x

And that’s all for today!
