Top 5 Nail Polishes for Winter

One of my favourite things about Winter is that I tend to have more time for nail designs and overall upkeep! Keep your nails looking gorgeous all throughout Winter with these top 5 polishes!

Max Factor Glossfinity in Candy Rose (50)

I must admit, this first colour is an all year round colour. However, it’s beautiful to have on your nails as it gives you that smart look during this festive season, and ties your look together. This rose colour applies smoothly and looks so soft and warm on your nails.¬†If you want to add an edge to it, adding a bit of sprinkles on top, which will put more emphasis on your nails ūüėČ

Max Factor Glossfinity in Red Passion (110)

It’s safe to say to that everyone needs a red nail polish in their collection! And let me just tell you, this is the perfect shade!¬†Perfect for the Christmas season, this pure red gives leaves your nails looking feminine and elegant for any event! Needless to say, Christmas is around the corner, so it can always be a little present from you to you ūüėõ

Max Factor Glossfinity in Midnight Bronze (60)

Another festive must! You might recognise this colour from last week’s YouTube video. This stunning gold definitely makes the outfit looks even more special. Just like any of the Glossfinity range, this nail polish glides on smoothly and lasts for about a week (depending on how much you take care of your nails!). However, I do suggest going with two to three coats with this one as it is quite sheer at first.

Max Factor Glossfinity in

This gorgeous number might not be everyone’s first choice. However, this plum shade looks really smart on the nails and suits most skin tones. In itself, the colour is quite opaque so two coats are more than enough (I got away with one ūüėČ ).

Gel Shine Lacquer in Gleaming Teal (45)

Definitely a personal favourite! Also, featured in last week’s video, this colour is so luxurious and wintery yet¬†original, since it is definitely not the everyday green you see and a perfect addition¬†to your nail polish collection. Just like the plum colour, this beautiful shade barely needs two coats, and you’re good to go!

e.l.f. Haul

Another parcel came through the mail! After all this time ordering online, I can’t help but get excited when something arrives at my door. As you might have noticed from the post’s title, this time it’s a parcel from e.l.f. Cosmetics.¬†I love buying products from e.l.f. because they have ongoing offers at really affordable prices.

This time round I decided to get some brushes and essentials rather than makeup itself. So let’s start off!

Total Face Brush Р£1.95

I already have another one of these brushes so I got an extra one just so I can alternate between the two. Also, if I needed to blend some harsh lines or whatnot, I prefer using a clean face brush rather than one with product on it. This brush is from their Essential line, and at the price – it’s great. It’s quite fluffy, light and soft so I find it works best with powder and also contouring your face.

Blending Eye Brush Р£1.95

This is also a brush that’s not new to my collection. I mainly bought it for the same reasons as the Total Face Brush¬†– and you can never have enough blending tools. This is also from the Essential¬†line and even though it may be slightly softer and fluffier, I find that it does the job.

Blending Wedges Р£1.95

elf-haul-blending-wedges (1)

This blending wheel comes in a pack of 8 blending wedges and for just ¬£1.95, it’s a good deal. These are¬†intended to blend any harsh lines, but can also be used to stipple on your makeup such as foundation or blusher – anything that has a liquid or cream consistency. By stippling on your makeup you’ll be able to achieve a more natural, even look and whether you’re travelling, a beginner or don’t want to spend money on brushes, these are an ideal essential in your makeup bag.

Eyeliner Brush Р£1.95

Lately, I’m really getting into using black eyeshadow as eyeliner – it’s easy and looks like you’ve put more work into it than you actually have. To apply the eyeshadow I was actually using e.l.f.’s Smudge Brush, and even though it works just fine, I wanted a flat eyeliner brush to see if it applies better. As you can see I’ve actually been using this with the colour ‘Ebony’ from Stila’s In the Light Palette.¬†You can also use this brush for cream consistencies, not just powder and is great to get that sleek line when applying your liner.

Waterproof Eyeliner Crayon in Black Р£3.95

I originally had got this in brown and loved it, so I decided to get it in black aswell. This eyeliner crayon is from their Studio line (that’s why it’s slightly more expensive) and if it’s anything like the brown one I have, it works great. It glides on really easily and stays on for a long time without particularly smudging. The only problem I have with¬†this product (and I have the same problem with the brown one) is that the crayon itself is not very secure in its packaging. With the brown one, the crayon had even fallen out of the tube! Therefore, the product isn’t 100% steady in its tube which is a bit disappointing since it’s actually good and from their Studio line. Nonetheless, I would still recommend trying these out as the product itself is very good.

Small Precision Brush Р£3.95

Also from the Studio line, this brush is ideal for eyeshadow application in the inner corner of the eyes. Since the bristles are short and packed together, but the handle is quite long, the brush provides good stability and densely packs the product onto the brush. It can also be used to apply concealer to blemishes.

Nail polish in Smoky Brown Р£1

Even though this nail polish is not currently in season, I’ve been wanting a brown nail polish for ages. I’ve quite a number of e.l.f. nail polishes and they all go on quite smooth. It might two or three coats, but for just ¬£1 – so what?!

When I purchased this order, e.l.f. sent me two FREE gifts for spending over £15:

Super Glossy Lip Shine in Pink Pop Р£1.95

I must admit – I was quite happy with this gift. Even though I’m not really a fan of lip glosses, I own another three shades and I just love them. Firstly, they’re small and squeezable so they fit right into your handbag if you’re on the go. Secondly, I find that they give just the right amount of colour to your lips – I just love them!

Mineral Eyeshadow in Temptress Р£3

This small loose pigment eyeshadow pot is from (as the name implies) the Mineral¬†line and is a beautiful matte taupe colour. It will look gorgeous when blending into the crease as it gives just the right amount of depth and definition to your eyes. You do have to be careful with loose shadows as they can create a mess, but I’m excited to try it out.
